The right location depends on your priorities — here's how each area of the Chamonix Valley compares for a luxury chalet stay.
Argentière is the premier location for serious skiers. Situated directly below Les Grands Montets, it's the only area in Chamonix where true ski-in/ski-out chalets exist. The village has a traditional Alpine character — quieter than the main town, with charming bars and restaurants and a community feel that Chamonix centre lacks.
8km from Chamonix town centre and connected by the free valley bus in 15 minutes. Our most sought-after winter chalets are in Argentière.
Chamonix's main pedestrian zone is the most convenient base for those who want everything on their doorstep — the best restaurants, après-ski bars, boutiques, and direct access to the Brévent cable car. The Aiguille du Midi and Montenvers railways both depart from the centre.
Chalets here tend to be within walking distance of the Brévent gondola and the main square. The trade-off is that you won't get ski-in/ski-out — but the vibrancy and convenience make up for it.
A quiet residential area between Chamonix town and Argentière, Les Praz is ideal for guests who want a peaceful, private retreat without being far from the action. The Flégère gondola gives direct access to the linked Brévent–Flégère ski area, and the free valley bus connects to Chamonix in 10 minutes.
Some of our largest properties with private gardens are located here — ideal for summer stays and for families who want space without noise.
